UPDATE: TSMC Q4 Net Profit Rises 32%

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co

reported a 32% rise in its fourth-quarter net profit. TSMC's quarterly net profit climbed to $41.57 billion New Taiwan dollars ($1.43 billion), versus NT$31.58 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of NT$42.80 billion. Its consolidated revenue surged 25% to NT$131.31 billion from NT$104.71 billion. TSMC shares fell 0.01% to $17.80 in after-hours trading.
