UPDATE: Shaw Posts Higher Q1 Profit

Shaw Communications SJR reported a rise in its first-quarter profit. Shaw's quarterly net income surged to C$235 million, or 49 Canadian cents per share, versus C$202 million, or 43 Canadian cents per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 3.1% to C$1.32 billion. Shaw shares closed at $22.83 yesterday.
