ConAgra Swings to 4Q Loss on Private Label Weakness (Fox Business)

ConAgra Foods (NYSE: CAG) reported a 17% rise in its second-quarter profit.

ConAgra's quarterly profit surged to $211.6 million, or $0.51 per share, versus $180.2 million, or $0.43 per share, in the year-earlier period.

Its net sales climbed 8.9% to $3.74 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.55 per share on sales of $3.68 billion.

ConAgra raised its FY13 view to at least $2.06 per share, versus its prior forecast of $2.03 to $2.06 per share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $2.07 per share.

ConAgra shares closed at $29.96 yesterday.
