UPDATE: H&R Block Posts Narrower FQ2 Loss

posted a narrower fiscal second-quarter loss. H&R Block posted a quarterly loss of $105.2 million, or $0.39 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $141.7 million, or $0.47 per share. Excluding one-time items, H&R Block's adjusted loss from continuing operations came in at $0.37 per share. Its revenue rose 6.3% to $137.3 million. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.40 per share on revenue of $130.4 million. H&R Block shares closed at $17.57 yesterday.
