Compass Group Adjusted Pretax Profit Rises 7.2%

reported a 7.2% rise in its adjusted pretax profit for the year-ended September 30. Compass Group's pretax profit for the period dropped to 789 million pounds, from GBP958 million, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted pretax profit rose to GBP1.09 billion from GBP1.02 billion. Its revenue climbed to GBP16.91 billion from GBP15.83 billion, while adjusted operating profit rose to GBP1.18 billion from GBP1.09 billion. Compass Group's basic earnings per share dropped to 32.1 pence from 36.4 pence, while adjusted earnings per share climbed to 42.6 pence from 39.0 pence. Compass Group shares closed at $11.36 yesterday.
