MediaTek Q3 Net Profit Surges 21%

MediaTek reported a 21% rise in its third-quarter net profit. MediaTek's quarterly net profit surged to $4.94 billion new Taiwan dollars (US$169 million), from NT$4.07 billion, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of NT$4.60 billion. Its revenue climbed 26% to NT$29.47 billion, versus NT$23.38 billion.
