UPDATE: Cemex Reports Narrower Third-Quarter Loss

Mexico's Cemex

posted a narrower loss in the third quarter. Cemex posted a quarterly loss of $203 million, versus a year-ago loss of $730 million, in the year-ago quarter. However, analysts were expecting a net loss of $16 million. Its quarterly consolidated net sales climbed 2% to $3.9 billion, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization gained 9% to $730 million. Cemex shares gained 0.23% to $8.85 in pre-market trading.
