Wolseley Posts Decline In FY12 Profit, Declares Special Dividend

reported a drop in its FY12 pretax profit and declared a special dividend of 350 million pounds. Wolseley's revenue for the year ended July 31 rose to GBP12.7 billion, from GBP12.1 billion, in the year-ago period. Its pretax profit declined to GBP198 million, from GBP391 million. Wolseley's total trading profit gained to GBP665 million from GBP622 million, while adjusted EPS increased to 168.4p from 142.9p. Wolseley lifted its final dividend to 40 pence from 30 pence. Wolseley shares closed at $4.29 yesterday.
