The Men's Wearhouse
MW reported a better-than-expected second-quarter profit.
Men's Wearhouse posted its quarterly earnings at $59.4 million, or $1.15 per share, up from $57.1 million, or $1.09 per share, in the year-ago quarter.
Its total revenue rose 1% to $662.3 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.12 per share on revenue of $662.9 million.
Men's Wearhouse projects FY12 earnings of $2.74 to $2.80 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $3.05 per share.
It expects Q3 earnings of $0.95 to $0.98 per share and Q4 earnings of $0.12 to $0.15 per share. However, analysts were expecting Q3 earnings of $0.97 per share and Q4 earnings of $0.09 per share.
Men's Wearhouse shares surged 7.13% to $34.11 in after-hours trading.
