H&R Block HRB posted a narrower fiscal first-quarter loss.
H&R Block posted a quarterly loss of $107.4 million, or $0.39 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $175.1 million, or $0.57 per share. Excluding one-time items, H&R Block lost $0.38 per share.
Its revenue fell 4% to $96.5 million from $100.6 million. However, analysts were projecting a loss of $0.37 per share on revenue of $101.2 million.
H&R Block shares gained 1.97% to $16.55 in after-hours trading.
