Suncorp Posts 60% Rise In Net Profit, Declares Special Dividend

Suncorp Group Ltd

reported a 60% rise in its annual net profit. Its net profit after tax at the banking and insurance group surged to 724 million Australian dollars ($758.2 million), versus A$453 million, in the year-ago period. Suncorp declared a special dividend of 15 cents per share. Suncorp's non-core banking division posted a loss after tax of A$263 million. Suncorp shares fell 0.50% to close at $8.96 yesterday.
