Volterra Semiconductor Plunges After Q2 Results

Volterra Semiconductor (NASDAQ: VLTR) released its fiscal second-quarter earnings results on Monday after the closing bell. The company reported net income of $6 million or $0.22 per share, compared to $5.3 million or $0.20 per share, in the year ago period. On an adjusted basis, EPS was $0.32. This compared to analysts' consensus EPS estimates of $0.35.
Revenues in the quarter were up 5 percent to $43.6 million. This also missed Street consensus estimates of $44.3 million.
During Tuesday's trading session, VLTR shares had plunged more than 14% to $21.60 in mid-day trade.
