China Eastern Airlines Posts Drop In 2011 Net Profit

China Eastern Airlines Corp Ltd CEA reported a decline in its 2011 net profit. China Eastern Airlines' net profit for the period dropped to CNY4.89 billion, from CNY5.38 billion in the year-ago period, as per China's accounting standards. Its revenue gained 12% to CNY83.97 billion versus CNY73.80 billion. China Eastern Airlines carried 68.73 million passengers in 2011, up 5.9% versus 64.93 million in the year-ago period. Its passenger load factor climbed 0.91 percentage points to 78.89%. China Eastern Airlines shares gained 0.77% to close at $17.06 on Friday.
