Wolverine World Wide projects 2012 earnings of $2.60 to $2.70 per share, on revenue of $1.49 billion to $1.53 billion. However, analysts were projecting earnings of $2.72 per share, on revenue of $1.52 billion. Wolverine World Wide's quarterly profit dropped to $23.0 million, or $0.47 per share, versus $25.6 million, or $0.52 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue gained 5.6% to $406.5 million. Analysts were expecting earnings of $0.46 per share on revenue of $409.6 million. Royal Philips Electronics swung to a net loss. Philips posted a quarterly net loss of EUR162 million on sales of EUR6.71 billion. Philips posted a net profit of EUR463 million on sales of EUR6.5 billion in the year-ago quarter. Haemonetics Corp HAE reported better-than-expected third-quarter results. Haemonetics' quarterly net income rose to $18.3 million, or $0.72 per share, from $19.7 million, or $0.77 per share, in the year-ago period. Haemonetics earned $0.86 per share excluding special items, versus analysts' estimates of $0.80 per share. Its revenue climbed 8% to $191.2 million, versus analysts' estimates of $186.2 million. Microstrategy Incorporated MSTR reported downbeat Q4 earnings. Microstrategy posted its quarterly profit of $0.81 per share on revenue of $160.3 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.95 per share on revenue of $160.7 million. Canon Inc CAJ reported a 14% rise in its net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter. Canon's quarterly net profit surged to Y61.44 billion, versus Y53.96 billion, in the year-ago period. Its operating profit gained 14% to Y94.61 billion versus Y82.85 billion. However, its revenue dropped 9.7% to Y964.76 billion from Y1.068 trillion. Canon projects its 2012 net profit to rise by 0.6% to Y250 billion. It also projects a 5.4% surge in revenue to Y3.750 trillion.
