Hologic Jumps on Q4 Earnings Beat

Shares of Hologic HOLX are trading higher in the after-hours following the release of the company's Q4 earnings results. Currently, shares are higher by 6.28%, trading at $17.25; they ended the regular session lower by 0.79%, at $16.23. Hologic reported Q4 EPS of $0.34 on revenues of $467 million; the Street was looking for $0.33 per share on $457.52 million in revenues. Revenues increased 9.0% year over year. The company sees FY Q1 EPS of around $0.32 on revenues of $465-470 million; the Street was at $0.33 per share on revenues of $467.53 million. FY2012 EPS is expected in the range of $1.35-1.37 on revenues of $1.90-1.925 billion; the Street was at $1.39 per share on revenues of $1.91 billion. "We are very pleased with yet another strong quarter and solid performance in Fiscal 2011," said Rob Cascella, President and Chief Executive Officer. "We continued to see year-over-year growth in all four of our business segments in part due to solid contributions from the acquisitions we completed this fiscal year. I am also extremely excited about the continued early interest in our Dimensions 3D mammography system…With the performance of our existing products, our rich portfolio of new technologies and our opportunities in emerging international markets, we believe we are well positioned for continued growth."
