Amazon Holding First-Ever 'Digital Day' Sale

Thousands of digital items are now on sale on Amazon.com.

Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN is hosting its first-ever "Digital Day" promotional event. For 24 hours, consumers can take advantage of steep discounts on thousands of apps, music TV shows, movies, games and other digital content.

Of particular note, a flash sale on Amazon's new streaming music platform, Amazon Music Unlimited, is being featured. A $10 credit will be applied to new subscribers after the completion of a 30-day free trial.

"Enjoy up to 80 percent off hundreds of video game titles, 50 percent off on top movies and TV shows, 75 percent off on hundreds of digital comics, and other great deals on popular content for your devices," The Verge quoted Amazon as saying in a teaser page.

According to TechCrunch, Amazon is trying to recreate its highly successful Prime Day with a new one-day sale bonanza. The publication suggested Amazon's new event makes sense as many consumers recently received Amazon's hardware products as presents and are now looking to fill their new devices with digital content.

Here is a sample of some of the sales going on right now.
