Worst Performing Industries For November 7, 2016


The Dow rose 1.55 percent to 18,164.75, while the NASDAQ composite index climbed 1.96 percent to 5,145.43. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index gained 1.74 percent to 2,121.51.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry slipped 1.1 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was GoPro Inc GPRO, which fell 2 percent. Bank of America downgraded GoPro from Neutral to Underperform and lowered the price objective from $17 to $10.
  • Silver: This industry declined 0.8 percent by 11:00 am with First Majestic Silver Corp AG moving down 4.5 percent. Silver futures declined 1.1 percent to trade at $18.17 an ounce.
  • Semiconductor- Memory Chips: This industry fell 0.7 percent by 11:00 am ET. SemiLEDs Corporation LEDS shares dropped 0.8 percent in today's trading.
  • Gold: The industry dropped 0.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was McEwen Mining Inc MUX, which declined 6.2 percent. Gold futures fell 1.8 percent to trade at $1,281.20 an ounce.
