  • Columbia Pipeline Partners LP CPPL surged 6.9 percent to $17.10. The volume of Columbia Pipeline shares traded was 2780 percent higher than normal. CPPL reported Q3 net income of $0.05 per common unit, down from $0.22 per common unit in the year-ago period. Columbia Pipeline Partners also reported an agreement to purchase its outstanding common units at price of $17 per unit for a transaction value of $915 million from Columbia Pipeline Group.
  • Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. BRCD shares moved up 10.1 percent to $12.37. The volume of Brocade traded was 2421 percent higher than normal. Broadcom Ltd AVGO announced plans to buy Brocade for $5.5 billion.
  • Wingstop Inc WING shares gained 6.4 percent to $27.79. The volume of Wingstop shares traded was 796 percent higher than normal. Wingstop posted better-than-expected quarterly earnings.
  • HealthSouth Corp HLS shares rose 5 percent to $41.24. The volume of John B. Sanfilippo shares traded was 611 percent higher than normal. HealthSouth will replace Rackspace Hosting, Inc. RAX in the S&P Midcap 400 after the close of trading on November 3.
