Worst Performing Industries For October 10, 2016


The Dow rose 0.82 percent to 18,389.96, while the NASDAQ composite index gained 0.89 percent to 5,339.30. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 0.71 percent to 2,168.97.

The worst performing industries in the market today are:

  • Photographic Equipment & Supplies: This industry slipped 2.6 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was GoPro Inc GPRO, which fell 2.4 percent.
  • Specialty Retail, Other: This industry declined 1 percent by 11:00 am with HSN, Inc. HSNI moving down 2 percent. Craig-Hallum downgraded HSN from Buy to Hold.
  • Internet Information Providers: This industry fell 0.8 percent by 11:00 am ET. Twitter Inc TWTR shares dropped 14 percent in today's trading. According to a Bloomberg report, Twitter is no longer being targeted for an acquisition.
  • Business Software & Services: The industry dropped 0.7 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was MAM Software Group Inc. MAMS, which declined 3.6 percent.
