Alaska Air said it saw a 7.4 percent increase in traffic throughout September on a 4.2 percent increase in capacity. Load factor rose 2.5 percent to 84.1 percent. Revenue per passenger mile (RPM, in millions) rose to $2,828 from $2,633 a year ago, while available seat miles (ASM, in millions) rose to 3,361 from 3,225 a year ago.
Delta said its consolidated passenger unit revenue (PRASM) for the month of September fell 3.0 percent on a year-over-year basis as close-in domestic yield pressures "moderated slightly," but the company continued to face a supply-demand imbalance in the Transatlantic region in addition to headwinds from last year's yen hedge gains in the month.
The company added that its mainline complete factor was 99.9 percent and on-time performance was 90.2 percent.
