Amidst the expectation of auto sales drop in September, Nissan Motor Co Ltd (ADR) NSANY reported 4.9 percent increase in unit sales from 121,782 units to 127,797 units.
Other big automakers like General Motors, Ford Motor and Toyota Motor are also expected to announce their September sales unit number later in the day.
Nissan Division sales grew 4.3 percent from 111,562 to 116,384 units, while Infiniti sales grew 11.7 percent from 10,220 to 11,413 units in the latest period of September.
The company's unit sales growth came primarily because of 18.9 percent jump in truck sales from 52,856 to 62,858 units. On the other hand, its car sales dropped 5.8 percent on a year-over-year basis from 68,926 to 64,939 units.
The stock closed Friday at $19.64.
