  • ING Groep NV (ADR) ING announced plans to cut around 7,000 jobs in order to reduce annual costs by 900 million euros ($1 billion) by 2021. ING shares gained 3.96 percent to close at $12.34 on Friday.
  • Shares of Constellation Brands, Inc. STZ rose Friday after report from the Wall Street Journal the company has put its Canadian wine business up for sale. Constellation's Canadian wine business will be for sale at auction and is already receiving potential suitors, including the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and an unknown buyer from the alcohol industry, according to the report. Constellation shares rose 1.72 percent to close at $166.49 on Friday.

  • Janus Capital Group Inc JNS and Henderson Group plc have agreed to an all-stock merger. The combined firm will have a market value of approximately $6 billion. Janus Capital shares gained 1.52 percent to close at $14.01 on Friday.
  • Shares of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc AUPH rose over 14 percent during the day and an extra 4 percent after-hours, driven by the announcement that its investigational drug Voclosporin met the primary and secondary endpoints in a Phase 2b Aura-LV study for Lupus Nephritis. Aurinia shares surged 14.02 percent to close at $3.01 on Friday.
