FX Sees Spike In Ratings With Debut Of 'Atlanta'

Twenty-First Century Fox Inc FOXA FX got off to a strong start with its fall offerings as the highly anticipated and critically acclaimed "Atlanta" saw a +3 rise in its ratings.

As a company, FX doesn't believe in the L+SD numbers and waits until time-shifted data comes in before making any announcements which usually results in a numbers bump. For "Atlanta," that brings its premiere total to 3 million viewers with 1.9 million coming from the 18-49 demo.

That's a 72 percent demo lift and a 68 percent overall gain making "Atlanta" one of the best performing rookie launches for the network. The success comes following the record-breaking bow back in January of network sibling "Baskets," which became the most watched basic cable primetime comedy series since 2014 in the demo and viewers (counting L+3).

FX will next debut the sixth season of the long-running "American Horror Story" franchise on Wednesday night.
