Time Warner's TWX Warner Bros. is continuing to dig into different reaches of the DC Universe for its future release slate and on Wednesday revealed its latest.

The studio has tapped Doug Liman to direct “Dark Universe" (aka "Justice League Dark”), a new ensemble action film featuring a number of the comic company’s cult favorite characters. Included in the mix are expected to be John Constantine, Deadman, Zatanna, Swamp Thing and Etrigan The Demon.

“Dark” has reportedly been in the works for a while with a gloomier version being developed under famed macabre master Guillermo del Toro. However, given the poor reception to the ultra-bleak tone of “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” that theory has been reworked.

Warner Bros. has DC branded films slated through 2020 with “Wonder Woman” and “Justice League” on deck from 2017. No word yet on when “Dark” will be slated for release.
