Marriott International Inc MAR announced it will open the first-ever triple branded hotel, encompassing three different levels of Marriott branded hotels all under one roof.
The move aims to consolidate behind the scenes operational costs to reduce ongoing expenses. Marriott broke ground on its new experiment with a $137 million project in Nashville, Tennessee, that contains 470 rooms and is set to open in mid-2018.
The new hotel will have three separate wings containing three Marriott branded hotels, AC Hotels, Springhill Suites and Residence Inn.
Marriott already has experience in dual branded hotels, with 52 already open and 32 more currently under construction, more than any other hotel company in the world. Marriott also owns luxury hotel chain Ritz Carlton.
