Intel Pays about 43% of Its Profit As Dividend

Intel Corporation INTC said that its board has declared a quarterly dividend of $0.26 per share on its common stock. On an annualized basis, it worked out $1.04 a share. The chipmaker paid approximately 43 percent of its profit as dividend to its shareholders, which was slightly higher than the five-year average payout ratio of 42.0 percent. Intel said that it fixed record date of August 7 to determine the eligible shareholders and that it would pay the dividend on September 1. The company's dividend provided a yield of 3.00 percent, which was slightly lower than the five-year average dividend yield of 3.20 percent. Though the company has been paying a dividend since 1992, its growth rate for the five-year and three-period periods were 8.40 percent and 3.62 percent respectively. On Tuesday, the stock traded 1.15 percent higher.
