Lucasfilm (Walt Disney Co DIS) announced Wednesday in a Entertainment Weekly cover story that Darth Vader will be making (at least) a cameo in the next "Star Wars" film, "Rogue One."
To compliment an exclusive interview with Gareth Edwards, the director of the new film, Entertainment Weekly used a photo of the black-masked man on their cover this week.
While Vader will be included in the film, but his character may not be as prevalent as anticipated.
According to an ABC News article , EW writer Antony Breznican said in an interview, "Darth Vader kind of looms large over the plot even when he's not necessarily on screen because the new villain played by Ben Mendleson, Director Krennic...He's trying to fulfill the wishes of the emperor and he's got kinda Vader looming in the background over his shoulder, making sure he gets the job done."
