Land O' Lakes, Inc. and Ceres, Inc. CERE announced Friday, that they have agreed that Land O'Lakes will acquire all of the outstanding capital stock of Ceres for $0.40 per share in cash, for a transaction valued at approximately $17.2 million. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 of 2016. Ceres closed at $0.38 on Friday, up 73%. Albemarle to Sell Surface Treatment Business to BASF for $3.2B The Deal:
Albemarle Corporation ALB announced Friday, that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its Chemetall Surface Treatment business to BASF BASFY for approximately $3.2 billion in cash. The deal is expected to close by year's end. Albemarle closed at $82.80 on Friday, up 3.5%. Mosaic Said to be in Talks to Acquire Vale's Fertilizer Unit for Up to $3B The Rumor:
Mosaic Co MOS is said to be in talks to acquire Vale SA's VALE fertilizer unit, according to sources as reported by Reuters on Friday. Vale's fertilizer assets could bging up to $3 billion in a sale, sources said. Mosaic closed at $26.74 on Friday up 3.24%.
