confirmed Thursday, that it received a non-binding letter from a private equity firm in December 2015, requesting confidential discussions about a potential acquisition of TA. The TA Board said the interests of TA of the company were best served by pursuing the existing business plans.
Dow Jones
reported Wednesday that TravelCenters had rejected a $14 per share offer from Golden Gate Capital late last year and that the private-equity firm was still interested in a deal. TravelCenters of America closed at $8.05 on Thursday, down 3.82%.

In an amended 13D filing on Thursday, Lansdowne Partners Austria GmbH, stated it believes that "the tender offer commenced by a subsidiary of Grupo Ferrer Internacional, S.A. to purchase all of the outstanding Shares at a price of $0.90 per share is neither fair nor in the best interests of stockholders." Lansdowne says the transaction does not properly consider the interests of stockholders who may desire to retain their shares in order to participate directly in any future benefits from the commercialization of Alexza's product candidates. Lansdowne says the Board has agreed on a sale price which is a small fraction of the amount invested in product development. Alexza Pharmaceuticals closed at $0.92 on Thursday, down 2.14%.

announced Thursday, that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Revlon will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Elizabeth Arden for $14.00 per share in cash, for an enterprise value of approximately $870 million. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2016. Elizabeth Arden closed at $9.31 on Thursday and traded at $13.90 after-hours.
