Dominion Resources, Inc. D said over one million of its Virginia Power customers are now enrolled in eBill, its paperless billing program that is fast, easy, secure, and environmentally friendly.

Dominion's VP of Customer Service, Becky Merritt, commented, "Thank you to our customers for their enrollment in this beneficial program. With our customers in mind and our continued focus on protecting the environment, our electronic billing and payment options help reduce paper consumption, saving customers time and money."

The company said the switch to electronic billing by one million customers reduced paper usage by 337,000 pounds a year, which is equivalent to saving 4,044 trees. The company added that one million electronic bills meant that 16,033 household garbage bags of paper will stay out of landfills every year.

Dominion said that with 40 percent of its 2.5 million electric customers participating currently, eBill puts it, as well as, its customers among the nation's leaders in electronic billing.
