Apple Music Hits 15 Million Paid Subs, To Get New Look

Apple Inc. AAPL's 2016 Worldwide Developers Conference kicked off on Monday afternoon On top of an upgraded Siri , a new macOS and the arrival of Apple Pay to the Web, the tech behemoth announced Apple Music counts 15 million paid subscribers and would be revamped with a “new design language that allows the music to be the hero."

As Eddy Cue, Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services, explained, the new app will be more intuitive and familiar and will favor the discovery of new music.

The new version of Apple Music will hit the market in the fall, along with the iOS 10 upgrade.

While many analysts have argued the 15 million paid subscribers figure is not impressive, Cue assured it was the "fastest growing service in one year" seen in the music segment ever. Moreover, it should be noted Apple Music hit half the number of paid subs that the market leader Spotify boasts – 30 million.
