Creator Wins Belmont Stakes; Favorite Exaggerator Finishes 11th

Creator, with rider Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard, beat out Destin at the finish, to win the 148th Belmont Stakes on Saturday. Favorite Exaggerator, the Preakness Winner, finished 11th in a field of 13. Japan's Lani finished third. Creator had finished 13th in the Kentucky Derby, while skipping the Preakness. The rain, predicted to start before post time, held off until just as the race ended. About 50,000 were in attendance for this year's Belmont Stakes, compared with the 90,000 who saw American Pharoah win the Triple Crown last year.
