Are You Living In One Of America's Most Friendly Job Markets?

Trulia is out with a list of the best job markets for recent grads. Do you live in one of the top cities? According to Trulia, the east is "the place to be" for new college grads despite the fact that the west boasts a "healthy" economy. The new survey is based on Trulia's housing market data and proprietary data shared by LinkedIn to determine which cities offer recent grads the best combination of affordability and entry-level job availability. "While the West makes headlines with high wages and strong job growth, the East is tough to beat for new college grads looking to start their career," Trulia's report stated. "Of the top 10 metros offering the best perks, all are east of the Rockies and nine are either on, or east, of the Mississippi River." Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania achieved top ranks given its high scores in all 3 components. The city ranked number 1 on the LinkedIn New Grad Index while 92 percent of its housing stock is considered affordable for recent college grads. Indianapolis, Indiana ranked second followed by Kansas City Missouri, Minneapolis-St. Paul Minnesota and Columbus, Ohio. Miami, Florida was ranked as the weakest market for college grads while Los Angeles, California ranked second to last.
