AT&T Invests about $1.65 Billion In Michigan To Upgrade Reliability, Coverage And Speed

AT&T Inc. T disclosed that it invested close to $1.65 billion in its Michigan wireless, as well as, wired networks during the three year period 2013 -2015. The company stated that these investments fuel a wide range of upgrades to reliability, coverage, speed and overall performance for residents and businesses. According to the company, the investments also improve critical services supporting public safety and first responders. The company's president for Michigan, Jim Murray, commented, "We're committed to providing our customers fast, reliable, highly secure connectivity. We want them to be able access the Internet at any moment, from almost any device and anywhere. Our continued investment in Michigan brings a host of new, innovative opportunities for residents and businesses." AT&T said that it made over 480 wireless network upgrades in Michigan in 2015. That included 27 new cell sites, as well as, nine wireless broadband upgrades. There are also other notable network enhancements in the region. The company's LTE network covers 365 million people in North America and expanded LTE in several communities in 2015. On Friday, the stock traded 0.29 percent up.
