Proto Labs Says Rich Baker To Replace Don Krantz As Its CTO

Proto Labs, Inc. PRLB revealed Rich Baker as its new Chief Technology Officer effective from May 2. According to the company, Baker would replace longtime employee and current CTO, Don Krantz, who announced his retirement recently. Proto Labs said that Baker held similar technology positions at PaR Systems, MTS Systems, and Rohm and Haas. The company's CEO, Vicki Holt, said that "Rich has a wealth of technical expertise and more than 18 years of leadership experience." Holt continued to say that "Proto Labs was built on automation software that reinvented traditional injection molding processes. With Rich's expertise and guidance as CTO, we will continue to be a leader in digital manufacturing." Baker joining the company assumed importance as the company was experiencing fast and steady growth, a situation Baker was comfortable with. The company added that as CTO at MTS, he played an integral role in building its revenue to about $470 million. On Monday, the stock shed 1.59%.
