Amazon's Prime Now Unveils Restaurant Delivery In San Francisco

Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN revealed Prime Now customers located in San Francisco could now enjoy one-hour delivery from local restaurants. That included Big Chef Tom's Belly Burgers, Buca di Beppo, DOSA, The Monk's Kettle, Nick's Crispy Tacos, Pressed Juicery and many more.

The online retailer said using the Prime Now mobile app, customers in San Francisco could view participating restaurants, browse menus, place orders, track the status of their delivery, and watch as their delivery driver travels to the delivery address in real time from the restaurant.

Amazon Restaurant's GM, Gus Lopez, commented, "San Francisco is known for incredible restaurants, and now Prime members across the city can enjoy their favorite local restaurants at home or at the office. With Prime Now Restaurant Delivery, customers can expect to pay the same price for their favorite dishes whether they visit the restaurant or order the same items for delivery. Prime Now has no hidden fees or menu markups, and delivery is free for a limited time."

The company indicated that once an order was placed, its delivery partners would deliver the food in an hour or less. Prime Now Restaurant Delivery provided its customers a transparent pricing. The company indicated that there were no menu markups or hidden service fees and delivery on all orders was free for a limited time.

On Tuesday, shares of the company shed 0.5 percent.
