Shares of YELP YELP spiked to the high of the day of $21.54, on unconfirmed market chatter that Alibaba BABA is considering a significant investment or an outright takeover of the review site. A deal could happen at approximately $28 per share, according to sources. Yelp has the been the subject of frequent takeover chatter, with a potential Priceline PCLN deal mentioned in January. Yelp closed at $21.09 on Friday, down $0.43. Gannett Offers to Buy Tribune Publishing for $12.25/Share in Cash The Offer:
Gannett Co., Inc. GCI announced Monday, a proposal to acquire all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Tribune Publishing Company TPUB for $12.25 per share in cash. The offer is valued at approximately $815 million, including the assumption of approximately $390 million of debt outstanding as of December 31, 2015. Tribune Publishing confirmed it received an unsolicited offer from Gannett, and said it would respond to Gannett as soon as possible. Tribune Publishing closed at $11.50 on Friday, up 53%. Boyd Gaming to Acquire Las Vegas Assets Of Cannery Casino Resorts for $230M The Deal:
Boyd Gaming Corporation BYD announced Monday, that it has agreed to acquire the Las Vegas assets of Cannery Casino Resorts for $230 million. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 of 2016. Boyd Gaming closed at $20.20 on Friday, up $0.17.
