The worst performing industries in the market today are: Specialty Eateries: This industry slipped 4.2 percent by 11:00 am. The worst stock within the industry was Starbucks Corporation SBUX, which fell 5.7 percent. Starbucks reported in-line earnings for its second quarter, but the company missed analysts' sales expectations. The company also narrowed its profit outlook for the full year. Drug Related Products: This industry declined 3.2 percent by 11:00 am with Perrigo Company plc Ordinary Shares PRGO moving down 4.3 percent. According to The Wall Street Journal, Valeant Pharmaceuticals Intl Inc VRX is finalizing a contract with Perrigo's Chief Executive Joseph Papa as its next CEO. The publication, citing "people familiar with the matter," added that Valeant could announce Papa as its new CEO as early as next week. Catalog & Mail Order Houses: This industry fell 1.9 percent by 11:00 am ET. Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN shares dropped 2.7 percent in today's trading. Amazon shares have surged 41.77 percent over the past 52 weeks, while the S&P 500 index has declined 1.24 percent in the same period. Specialty Retail, Other: The industry dropped 1.5 percent by 11:00 am. The worst performer in this industry was Vitamin Shoppe Inc VSI, which declined 1.2 percent. Vitamin Shoppe is expected to release its Q1 financial results on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
