Newell Rubbermaid Completes The Integration With Jarden

Newell Rubbermaid Inc. NWL disclosed it has completed integration of the company with Jarden Corporation successfully. According to the company, the deal created a $16 billion consumer goods firm at the global level with a strong portfolio of established brands such as Sharpie, Parker, Paper Mate, and so on.

Newell Rubbermaid said it was renamed as Newell Brands Inc. However, the shares of the company would be traded under the symbol NWL in the NYSE.

The company's CEO, Michael Polk, said "The combination of our two great organizations creates a powerhouse consumer goods company and sets up a very exciting long-term growth and value creation story".

The CEO stated further, "I am honored to have the opportunity to lead Newell Brands and the development of our business. We expect Newell Brands to unlock far greater upside than either company could have on their own. I want to thank Martin Franklin, Ian Ashken and Jim Lillie for their achievements and leadership at Jarden and for the role they have played in helping us bring our companies together."

Polk continued to say, "Our immediate focus will be to deliver our 2016 financial objectives, start the work of integrating the two companies and develop the long term corporate and portfolio strategy that will guide the choices we make and the realization of the company's full potential."

On Friday, shares of the company traded up by 1.11 percent.
