Comtech Telecommunications Get Patent For Its Innovative Location Trust Score Technology In US

Comtech Telecomm. Corp. CMTL revealed that its subsidiary, TeleCommunication Systems, Inc., was granted an American patent for its Location Trust Score technology. The company disclosed the Patent No.9,277,526 granting intellectual property protection and licensing opportunities. Comtech President and CEO, Stanton Sloane, said that "Our Location Trust Score technology is a powerful tool for identifying fraud, preventing "false positive" denials of services, and confirming location compliance for regulated industries, such as financial services and online wagering". The company's CEO added further that "Given that our Location Trust Score technology is not carrier dependent, it has scalability and applicability for a wide range of global financial and e-commerce services. In addition to serving as the foundation for our own Trusted Location service, securing this patent allows us to license this innovative technology to other organizations dedicated to ensuring the protection of their customers worldwide." Comtech said that Location Trust Score was a first-of-its-kind technology and addresses spoofing issues by reporting the level of certainty connected with the location and authenticity of the device. It also ensures that a device location was in a compliant location for financial services and online wagering applications. On Thursday, shares of the company traded down by 0.13%.
