AT&T Will Still Be Integrated Solution Provider To 2016 NBC Olympics

AT&T Inc. T disclosed that NBC Olympics would continue to use its networking services, as well as integrated solutions for its production of the games of the XXXI Olympiad in Brazil between August 5 and 21.

AT&T said NBC Olympics would use its Private Line, Video Broadcast, and Ethernet Private Line to deliver high-definition coverage of the current year's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio. The company said its work with NBC Olympics was in addition to its ongoing support and sponsorship of the United States Olympic Committee.

The telecom service provider said since 1984, it worked with Team USA and Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls to keep them connected to coaches, family, friends and fans as they train and compete around the world. The company would offer ultra-reliable and dedicated communications services to NBC Olympics.

AT&T's President of Global Business, Frank Jules, commented, "For the 10th consecutive Olympic Games, our network will help enable NBC Olympics to present their coverage to viewers." He added, "We know this business intimately and have the capabilities and scope to give viewers a seamless viewing experience on their screen of choice."

Similarly, NBC Olympics' Director of Broadcast Telecommunications Operations, Bob Kiraly, said that "NBC Olympics is committed to bringing to our viewers the best possible and most wide-ranging viewing experience. We are pleased that, for the 10th time, AT&T will be providing the network and support that helps ensure we meet that commitment."

On Thursday, the stock traded up by 0.38 percent.
