A car from Apple Inc. AAPL is a rumor that, just like the TV, continues to be speculated on. While the Cupertino-based company hasn't announced anything publicly, that hasn't stopped one media outlet from circulating apparent pieces of concept art.
The images are serious enough that they're scaring Tesla Motors Inc TSLA investors; shares briefly fell on the news.
But does the average person really expect any announcement right now?
Last month, a poll of 4,200 Benzinga readers showed 59 percent did not expect Apple to discuss its automotive plans at a March 21 product event.
However, one analyst has a slightly different take. "I think there is going to be a long steady flow of information,” Piper's Gene Munster said in a recent interview. “Hard to keep that under wraps," Munster added, in relation to Apple car-related plans and concept images.
Munster also said a potential Apple car could cost around $75,000.
