According to a report by DigiTimes, AU Optronics Corp (ADR) AUO, a developer of thin film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCDs), shipped 9.55 million large-size panels in March, marking a 35.0 percent month-over-month increase.
DigiTimes also added that the company shipped 14.74 million small- and medium-size units in March, marking a 26.6 percent month-over-month increase.
Au Optronics reported its consolidated revenue in March grew 27.72 percent month-over-month to NT$26.722 billion ($800 million) in March. However, the company's revenue during the January to March period was NT$71.135 billion – the lowest quarterly level since the second quarter of 2009.
Shares of AU Optronics showed no trades early Monday morning and gained more than 5 percent on Friday to close at $2.94. Shares are also down nearly 40 percent over the past year.
