DISH Network's Hopper 3 DVR To Help Netflix Catalog Of Ultra HD 4K

DISH Network Corp DISH indicated its customers could now stream Netflix, Inc. NFLX catalog of ultra HD TV shows, as well as, movies. According to the company, its Hopper 3 DVR would help its customers to view them in 4K.

Dish Network said its Hopper 3 brings in native 4K support, decode and output 60 frames in a second apart from 10-bit color. Its statement said that Netflix app has been available since February, and the access now included different originals in 4K like "House of Cards" or "Daredevil."

Dish's EVP and CTO Vivek Khemka said, "Netflix is actively taking steps to broaden the availability of Ultra HD content, with plans to provide more than 600 hours by the end of this year. As the cost of 4K TVs continues to decrease, consumer adoption of and interest in Ultra HD technology becomes more widespread. We're making every effort to provide our Hopper 3 customers with additional access to 4K programming as it's made available."

On Friday, shares of the company traded up by 1.10 percent.
