Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. TLF said its comparable sales for the month of March advanced 2 percent over the same month last year. Sales for the month also grew 2 percent to $7.2 million from $7.1 million in the previous year month. While Retail Leathercraft sales rose 1 percent, Wholesale Leathercraft sales slipped 1 percent in March, according to the company.

The company's Interim CEO Shannon Greene said, "Our sales increased modestly this month and a majority of our stores reported sales gains over March last year. Our store base had mixed results, however, with a number of stores reporting very solid gains while others were down significantly. The current business climate continues to be a challenge overall as we did not see any pockets of regional strength or weakness throughout North America."

Shares of the company ended 0.42 percent higher on Wednesday.
