Investors who are bullish on the virtual reality segment may need to re-evaluate their thesis.
Gamer Network, a video game media company, surveyed 14,000 internet users and asked what their intentions are to buy a virtual reality headset. eMarketer discussed the results and noted that nearly 60 percent of users responded with a firm 'no' and another 25 percent responded with a 'maybe/don't know.'
Fifty-one percent of respondents stated that price was one of the most important factors in decided whether or not to buy a headset. Visual quality was a close second at 47.3 percent while compatibility, anti-motion sickness and controllers were other factors users considered to make a decision.
