Cabela's has allowed several potential buyers, including rival Bass Pro Shops, to view its financial records, according to sources as reported by the NY Post on Thursday. The outdoors retailer began seeking bids for its credit-card business last month and could soliicit offers for the entire company as well, the sources said. Paul Singer's took an 11% stake in Cabela's in October and has been pressing the company to consider options, including a sale. Cabela's closed at $47.24 on Thursday, up 3.87%. Tivo, Rovi Said to be in Merger Talks The Rumor:
TiVo is in talks to be acquired by Rovi, according to sources as reported by the NY Times Dealkbook on Thursday. A note from Jefferies says TiVo could be worth $11.00 to $15.50 per share in a takeover. A spokesman for TiVo declined to comment, while Rovi did not respond to a request for comment. Tivo closed at $9.45 on Thursday, up 23.37%. Microsoft Executives Said to be in Talks With Potential Yahoo Investors The Rumor:
Microsoft Corp MSFT executives are said to be in early-stage talks with potential investors to provide financing for a takeover of Yahoo Inc YHOO, according to a source as reported by Reuters on Sunday. The talks resulted from private equity firms approaching Microsoft with interest in deal for the Sunnyvale, CA Internet company. Microsoft declined comment on the report. Yahoo closed at $34.86 on Thursday, up $0.06. Qlik Technologies Said to be Considering Sale The Rumor:
Qlik Technologies Inc QLIK is said to be exploring strategic alternatives, including a potential sale, according to sources as reported by Reuters on Friday. The sources said Qlik is working with Morgan Stanley on the possible sale. Elliott Management recently reported an 8.8% stake in Qlik and is pushing for a takeover by a larger tech company. Qlik, Elliott and Morgan Stanley declined comment on the matter, according to Reuters. Qlik closed at $26.69 on Thursday, up 1%.
