'Of Kings And Prophets' Becomes Latest Causality Of ABC's Tuesday Night Schedule

After just two episodes, Walt Disney Co DIS's ABC has exiled religious drama "Of Kings And Prophets."

However, if you follow ratings even in the slightest this news shouldn't come as a surprise. The series opened to a painfully bad 0.8 in the 18-49 demo and then slipped to a 0.5 in its second outing this week. Usually new series debut in the high 1's or low 2's, and anything under that number is primed for cancellation for the onset.

Granted, the series had trouble from the beginning when it was announced as part of ABC's fall schedule but pulled for "retooling." When the series finally debuted last week, it did worse than previous timeslot inhabitant "Wicked City," which pulled a 0.9 rating but at least had the excuse of going against Game 1 of the World Series.

This timeslot has notoriously given ABC fits the last few years as many shows including "Forever" and "Body of Proof" have cratered despite loyal cult followings. "Shark Tank" spin-off "Beyond The Tank" will swim into the Tuesday's at 10 p.m. timeslot for the remainder of the season starting next week.
