Lions Gate Reveals More Details About Its "Comic-Con HQ" Streaming Channel

is about to make attending San Diego Comic-Con even easier; at least virtually. Comic-Con International and Lions Gate announced on Monday that "Comic-Con HQ," the pair's new subscription video-on-demand platform will debut on May 7 with free Beta access through June. The cost of the service post launch has not yet been released. Investors in Lions Gate have been well aware of the project for months but had been waiting for more information to trickle out. Programming on the network will including content centered on comics, gaming and pop culture. Adam Sessler (formerly) of G4's "X-Play" will be among the new contributors along with Complex's Collider which will launch an all-female hosted talk show. Actress and social media tastemaker Ashley Eckstein and "Supernatural" stars Richard Speight and Rob Benedict are also developing programming. In addition, users will be treated to live-streaming of select Comic-Con panels as well as special (virtual) access to the convention floor and other SDCC events such as the Eisner Awards. The channel is also expected to have an archive section of licensed films and TV shows that are closely tied to the Comic-Con audiences. The 2016 edition of San Diego Comic-Con International runs from July 21st to July 24th.
