Checkpoint Systems, Inc. CKP shares gained 27.03 percent to $10.01 in pre-market trading after the company agreed to be acquired by CCL Industries for $10.15 per share in cash.

Everyday Health Inc EVDY shares rose 24.89 percent to $5.82 in pre-market trading on stronger-than-expected Q4 results.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. ANF shares rose 6.68 percent to $31.30 in pre-market trading after the company reported upbeat Q4 results.

CSX Corporation CSX rose 4.95 percent to $25.86 in pre-market trading after the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday the company has been approached by Canadian Pacific Railway Limited CP.

Zynga Inc ZNGA shares rose 4.17 percent to $2.25 in pre-market trading after the company appointed a new CEO. Zynga announced after Tuesday's market close that Frank Gibeau will replace Mark Pincus as CEO, effective March 7. Pincus is credited as being Zynga's founder and will serve as Executive Chairman of the Board.

PTC Therapeutics, Inc. PTCT shares rose 3.60 percent to $5.75 in the pre-market trading session after tumbling 30.45 percent on Tuesday.

Ross Stores, Inc. ROST shares rose 1.73 percent to $57.20 in pre-market trading. Ross Stores reported better-than-expected results for its fourth quarter, but the company issued a weak earnings forecast. The company also lifted its quarterly dividend by 15 percent.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation BGFV shares fell 14.22 percent to $11.40 in pre-market trading. Big 5 Sporting Goods reported upbeat earnings for its fourth quarter, but the company issued a weak earnings outlook.

Weatherford International Plc WFT shares fell 7.75 percent to $5.71 in pre-market trading after the company priced its offering of 100 million ordinary shares at $5.65 per share.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation CHK shares fell 5.80 percent to $2.60 in pre-market trading after gaining 5.75 percent on Tuesday.

Monsanto Company MON shares fell 4.85 percent to $88.00 in pre-market trading after the company lowered its full-year profit forecast.
